Updating this site and comparisons

I feel like I'm overthinking this neocities thing. Like don't get me wrong, I'm super excited at the idea of having this site which, at its core, should be dedicated to me and the things that I'm interested in. Like where else on the internet will you find Yuri AND gym content? AND some stuff about being transmasc and the intersectionality between yuri transness and gym culture?

Okay, I kinda gotta emphasize that the site isn't about that, more the yuri stuff with gym stuff where I feel like it.

But IF I wanted it to be that I totally could because it's mines!

Anyways, I'm getting so caught up in the website design that I'm not even focusing on actually making the content I want to for this place. A part of me thinks that makes sense -- will I even want to keep this blog section? What if it's better to just remove the yuri notion page and replace it with interconnected yuri reviews?

And then I see all these wonderfully designed neocities with a lot more effort and thought put into them than me with my little template I found online (thank you kind coder whose username I forgot) and some changes I made admittedly with AI guidance.

No, I'm not happy about using AI any more than you are, lol.

Everyone else is so creative! I feel drab in comparison. Yes, comparison is the thief of joy, and clearly this case is an example of that. I just want to do better. Then there's the coder in me, the backend one, that wants to add javascript in here and make this place way more functional and cool. But I also think that you build upon a solid foundation. I'm not sure if this website design is the foundation I want to build upon.

Been browsing the neocities site for a lot more inspiration. It seems like everyone just makes their sites about what brings them joy, and the aesthetic follows. I'm thinking more about that. What's a vibe I really like? That also flows with what I want this site to be about?

Admittedly, I'm still learning a lot about this stuff. I'm still learning about making things on the web, and neocities, and how this decentralized internet works. I grew up on it, but I was so young at the time and matured as the internet was becoming centralized, so there are things I'm forgetting. So I'm relearning, which is also fun.

The way I talk you'd think I was geratric lol. All this to say, site is still a massive work in progress. My hope is that Nishikino-Kun can become an identity that positively spreads love for Yuri and brings community together where I can. Maybe that's a big hope, and maybe its also a bit much...but if this site is gonna be apart of that, then I want it to live up to that standard.

I'd really like for this to be a place where yuri fans new and old can come and get some good recommendations, or feel like they have a friend they can talk yuri with. With some flicks of me working out thrown in because yeah lets touch some grass lol.
